Music Studio

The Bachelor of Science in Music Business degree at Mercer University’s Townsend School of Music prepares students for a successful career working in the music and entertainment management industry. One of the unique features of this degree is the 30-credit hours from the Stetson-Hatcher School of Business which facilitates integration of musical knowledge and skill with business savvy and insight.

World Class Facilities

All music production courses will take full advantage of the studios, classrooms, and digital audio workstation labs at Mercer Music at Capricorn. This world-famous studio is a commercially working studio where students will be able to work alongside audio engineers, producers, and recording artists.

Specialized Curriculum

Students will study foundational music courses including the first year of music theory and musicianship skills, applied lessons, and ensembles. Along with general education courses, students will take 21-credit hours of music production courses. The first nine hours are specified in the degree while the remaining 12 hours can be selected from the music production curriculum. The heart of the degree is 30-credit hours of business courses. These courses will help the student understand the foundations of business practices while going deeper into the upper levels of the business curriculum to learn about entrepreneurship, management, and how to run a business.

Setting Your Path in the Music Industry

Throughout their studies, students will collaborate with Mercer’s talented students as well as faculty from the Townsend School of Music, the Stetson-Hatcher School of Business, and Mercer Music at Capricorn, including artists, engineers, producers, and managers who are currently working in the industry.
