Mercer Wind Ensemble Fall 2017 Audition Info

Welcome to Mercer University's Townsend School of Music 2017 Wind Ensemble Audition information webpage!  All students wishing to audition to participate in the Mercer University Wind Ensemble will need to audition on August 22 (returning students) or August 21 (new members).

The audition will consist of the following: 1) Performance of all 12 major scales (two octaves where possible), from memory performed at an even tempo with excellent tone quality; 2) Performance of the prepared excerpt available on this webpage for your instrument, (Percussionists please note there are three excerpts-snare drum, mallets, and timpani) please bring your own appropriate mallets; 3)  A short sight-reading excerpt will be provided at the audition.  The applicant is encouraged to engage in daily sight-reading to adequately prepare for this part of the audition.
